During Goethe’s days, Am Römischen Kaiser was a newly constructed restaurant with a dance hall and is mentioned in Werther. Back then it was at Kornmarkt 5, but has since expanded to Kornmarkt 7, the very house where Goethe lived himself. It offers typical German hearty meals as well as internationally popular dishes.
